DSC LC-100-PI Product Description:
The DSC LC-100-PI is a hardwired slim-design PIR motion detector that senses movement by an intruder while having pet immunity up to 55 lbs. The LC-100PI motion detector uses a special designed optical Lens with unique Quad (Four element) PIR Sensor and new ASIC based electronics optimized to eliminate false alarms, caused by small animals and pets.
The LC series of detection devices pinpoints intruders through digital signal processing. Digital information is more accurately analyzed using software and is not subject to signal degradation caused by amplification, noise, distortion or signal clipping.
The detection range of the motion detector is adjustable to from 16' to 49' (5 m to 15 m). A potentiometer can be adjusted clockwise or counter-clockwise to increase or decrease the range respectively. For optimum performance, range should be adjusted so that it effectively protects the dimensions of the intended area.
Whether it's a residential or commercial installation, the LC series of detection devices readies a security system for the unexpected by providing protection for every room, corner and corridor. Choose a installation location that is most likely to intercept an intruder. Make sure to mount the detector at the recommeded height. Highly visible LEDs can be viewed at a glance and help the installer indentify the detection range from any distance or anlge within the coverage pattern. The LC-100-PI detector features intelligent signal analysis for reliable detection, pet immunity up to 55 lbs (25 kg) and a slim design that complements any decor.
The Quad high quality sensor detects motion crossing the beam; it is less sensitive detecting motion towards the detector. The LC-100-PI performs best when provided with a constant and stable environment. Try to avoid the following when installing the LC-100-PI motion detector; facing direct or reflected sunlight, facing areas subject to rapid temperature changes, areas with air ducts or substantial air flows and areas next to large obstructions that may limit the coverage area. For better immunity avoid installation in areas where pets can reach upwards.
