What are the Alarm Communication Paths?

Flexible Transmission Options

Safe and Reliable Alarm Signals!

Alarm communication paths are a critical component in the transmission of signals from both burglary intrusion and commercial fire alarm systems. For home and business security systems, burglary intrusion alarms are designed to communicate signals through various channels, ensuring that alerts are promptly and reliably sent to the appropriate monitoring station or individual. These systems can transmit signals over traditional phone lines, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), internet, Wi-Fi, and cellular networks. Many systems also employ dual-path communication, which uses two different methods simultaneously to ensure redundancy and reliability. This dual-path approach is particularly beneficial in scenarios where one communication method might fail, as the other can still deliver the alarm signal to the 24/7 GeoArm central monitoring station. Additionally, for those who prefer a more hands-on approach, DIY self-monitoring options are available, allowing users to receive alerts directly on their devices without the need for a professional monitoring service.

Commercial fire alarm systems, on the other hand, have traditionally relied on robust communication paths to ensure that emergency signals are transmitted securely and efficiently. These systems often use phone lines, internet, and cellular networks to send alerts to GeoArm's central monitoring station. Like burglary intrusion systems, commercial fire alarms can also utilize dual-path communication to enhance reliability. This ensures that even if one communication path is compromised, the other can still deliver the critical alert to the monitoring station. Once the signal is received, GeoArm's professional operators are available 24/7 to dispatch emergency services promptly, ensuring that any fire-related incidents are addressed swiftly and effectively.

General Steps for Burglar Alarm Monitoring?

24/7 PRO Monitoring

Step 1. A burglar alarm is triggered and is transmitted to the GeoArm 24/7 central monitoring station.

Step 2. The GeoArm operator then goes through documented call list procedures and calls the user to verify if burglar alarm requires response.

Step 3. If the burglar signal is either confirmed valid, or if the end user is unreachable when the GeoArm operator attempts to attempts to contact them, then traditional local police department dispatching procedures will proceed.

DIY Self Monitoring

Step 1. A burglar alarm is triggered and is transmitted to the end-user only.

Step 2. The end-user verifies if the burglar alarm requires response.

Step 3. If the burglar signal is confirmed by end user, they can choose not to respond. If the end user chooses to respond they do so by contacting their local police department, or authority having jurisdiction to report their alarm accordingly.

General Steps for Commercial Fire Monitoring?

Step 1. A fire alarm is triggered and is transmitted to the GeoArm 24/7 central monitoring station.

Step 2. The GeoArm operator immediately calls to dispatch the local fire department having jurisdiction to the property.

Step 3. Finally, the GeoArm operator proceeds with the fire event notification procedure by contacting the phone numbers listed on the emergency call list. They continue calling until they successfully reach someone, at which point they cease further calls to additional numbers.
