Infrared (IR) security cameras are surveillance cameras that use IR light to provide clear video footage even in low-light or complete darkness. The IR light is typically emitted from infrared LEDs surrounding the camera lens, which illuminates the area with invisible infrared light. This allows the camera to capture high-quality footage even in situations where traditional cameras would be unable to. The range of the IR illuminators varies from camera to camera but can capture clear images even in complete darkness up to a range of several hundred feet.
