The First Alert CX4D (Part Number: CX4DE08F28PW) is an indoor/outdoor 8MP AI dome PoE security camera built for both business and residential protection. With an ultra-HD 8MP sensor and a 2.8mm fixed lens, it captures crisp video detail while the dome form factor stays discreet yet visible, helping you monitor key areas without drawing unnecessary attention. Its wide, practical viewing coverage makes it a strong choice for offices, retail spaces, lobbies, entry points, and homes, and it also performs well outdoors when you want a clean, less obtrusive look.

For faster investigations and more relevant alerts, the CX4D includes AI smart search for quick video clip retrieval along with intelligent threat detection and advanced on-camera analytics. The AI-driven event detection is designed to reduce false alerts and surface the activity you actually care about. You can record continuously for full coverage, and rely on event-based cloud storage for convenient access to key moments, giving you a flexible mix of always-on recording plus cloud-backed event clips.

The CX4D supports edge-based recording with up to 1TB via a MicroSDXC card (not included), which can be ideal for sites that want local storage in addition to cloud options. Installation is simple with dual power choices, PoE (Power over Ethernet) for a single-cable run, or 12VDC for traditional power, and the camera can be enrolled using the AlarmNet 360® app for streamlined setup.

For an integrated experience, CX4 cameras work with ProSeries and VISTA® H security panels supported by scalable AlarmNet 360® Plans, and they connect seamlessly to Resideo Total Connect® 2.0 (web and app). That means you can manage video and intrusion from one place, use video event filtering to focus on what matters, and use a timeline scrubber to move through continuous footage or jump straight to recorded clips. With centralized cloud management, encrypted video transmission and storage, and easy scalability, the CX4D is a smart, modern option for dependable video surveillance.
