DSC Impassa Kit Description:
The DSC Impassa SCW9057 is a all-in-one traditional phone/voip line wireless security system kit designed for small business and home security installations. This Impassa kit provides users with traditional built-in Plain Old Telephone Systems (POTS) security they already know and trust. In addition, the freedom to add smart home devices, that are compatible with Alula interactive alarm monitoring services. With Impassa you can start with a 3-1-1 security only kit, and then scale up at anytime to a full security and home automation solution. The Impassa panel can add up to 64 wireless zones, 4 keypads, 16 keyfobs, 17 user codes, and 4 sirens.
This Impassa POTS security system kit includes; an Impassa control panel with built-in phone line communicator using the Plain Old Telephone Systems (SCW9057), three door/window contacts (EV-DW4975), one motion detector (WS4904P) and one 4-button keyfob (WS4939). Since the phone/VoIP line can be deliberate cut or tampered with, you may consider adding an alternative Alarm.com dual-path (IP/cellular LTE) communicator or Alula tri-path LTE (ethernet/WiFi/cellular LTE) communicator to send your alarm data over redundant and secure wireless communication paths.
By adding the Alarm.com or Alula interactive alarm communicator, DIYer's can also connect to their favorite home devices, including Z-Wave/Z-Wave Plus standard lights, thermostats, power sockets, door locks, and more. Users can choose the level of engagement and control what they desire, ranging from local notifications and keypad activation, to full remote control via cloud-based intelligence and mobile apps. All intelligent actions can be implemented according to user defined triggers and customized schedules or simply on-demand.
To meet DIYers' needs for easy installation, the DSC Impassa needs only one wire for AC power. This allows for DiYer's to drill fewer holes and pull fewer wires, reducing the difficulty of the installation. With Impassa's easy enrollment process, the time spent enrolling compatible wireless devices is reduced. All you have to do is enter the Electronic Serial Numbers (ESN), zone numbers and zone type through a series of user friendly screens. In addition, Impassa's template programming feature allows end users to quickly program basic functions by just entering a 4-digit code. Codes exist for pre-defined zone definitions, reporting code formats, communication call directions and DLS setup. To complete the setup, the DiYer just enters the monitoring station telephone number (for POTS only) and account code, DLS access code, entry/exit delays and installer code. When the wireless sensors batteries transit a low battery signal, they are simple to replace on your own. Say goodbye to those expensive onsite service calls forever.
