The DSC PGP9979 wireless PowerG + heat detector is a reliable life-safety device designed to detect dangerous temperature changes caused by fire. Utilizing PowerG + wireless technology, it delivers secure, long-range communication while maintaining exceptional battery efficiency. The detector combines a fixed temperature heat sensor with a rate-of-rise heat sensor, allowing it to quickly identify rapid increases in temperature that may indicate a developing fire. An internal piezoelectric alarm provides an immediate local alert, ensuring occupants are notified even before the signal reaches the control panel.
Unlike traditional smoke detectors, the PGP9979 is specifically engineered for environments where smoke or airborne particles are common. It is ideal for use in kitchens, garages, mechanical rooms, and other areas where normal cooking fumes or dusty conditions could cause false alarms with smoke detectors. By monitoring heat rather than smoke, the detector offers dependable fire detection while significantly reducing nuisance alarms in challenging environments.
