The Alarm.com LX30B-Q50TU-AUC Universal Communicator is a takeover device for upgrading compatible older POTS security systems. The LX30B-AUC provides the best of Alarm.com security, including arming and disarming remote control through the Alarm.com Customer app and notifications like Unexpected Activity Alerts and location-based arming reminders.
The LX30B-AUC can retrofit various compatible older POTS-type security systems, such as DSC, Honeywell, PIMA, GE, Paradox, Intelbras, Visonic, and Texacom. Legacy panels can communicate with the LX30B-AUC using the POTS line and can be remotely armed/disarmed through the use of a keyswitch zone. Keyswitch zone refers to the type of definition of a zone, which would allow a security system to be armed/disarmed, through momentary contact. This is generally supported by most traditional security systems.

Alarm.com LX30B-Q50TU-AUC Product Terminals:
- +12V - Positive 12-14VDC supply pole.
- GND - Negative supply pole. Device ground. Common terminal for inputs and outputs.
- ACM - Control connector for monitoring the AC power supply to an external control panel. If this connector is connected to the control panel AC connector, the communicator can verify the presence of power in the control panel.
- I/O 1 – I/O 8 - Role configurable connectors where the installer, using the EBS Config 2.0 program, can define whether the connector is to behave as an input or as an output. If configured as an input, the connector behaves as a typical signal input. If configured as an output, the connector behaves as a typical OC output.
- T1 - R1 - Connections for connecting a telephone communicator of the alarm control panel.
- TIP – RING - Connectors for connecting another transmitter (e.g., working in another GSM network)

Alarm.com LX30B-Q50TU-AUC Product Safety:
- The device should be assembled, installed, and serviced by qualified personnel in accordance with the instructions.
- The device should be checked by qualified personnel once a year (on average).
- The device should work in a safe environment with parameters in accordance with the device's specifications.
- Operating Temperature: nominal: +68ºF (+20ºC), acceptable: +14ºF to +131ºF (-10ºC to +55ºC).
- Operating Humidity: 0% to 93% (without condensation).
- Do not install the device near any heat sources; such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other appliances that produce heat.
- The device is intended only for indoor and dry installation.

- If damaged, the device should be disconnected then replaced only by trained, qualified personnel. Before disconnecting the device, it is necessary to disconnect the power supply.

- The device should always be cleaned with a dry cloth. Do not use water, detergents or chemicals - they may damage the device.
- Avoid mounting the Universal Communicator near sources of significant electromagnetic interference, or in rooms where metal is the predominant structural material due to the potential for cellular signal attenuation.
Caution: To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose the device to rain or moisture.
Alarm.com LX30B-Q50TU-AUC Product Compatibility:
- LX30B-AUC firmware version must be 2.19.4+.
- Verify compatibility of the panel and desired protocol (CID or SIA).
- Verify that the panel is not using zone numbers greater than 126 and is capable of sending signals using a POTS phone line (PSTN).
- For keyswitch integration to remotely view or change panel arming status, verify each of the following:
-For remotely viewing panel arming status, verify a PGM slot is available.
-For remotely changing panel arming status, verify a hardwired zone is available.
-A Universal Communicator service package is required.
