The Alarm.com ADC-T40K-HD is an aesthetically pleasing black-color display smart thermostat that offers a sleek, color touchscreen display for an engaging customer experience that delivers the next-level of comfort and control. With mechanical wire detection, an easy setup wizard, and local configuration, the Smart Thermostat HD makes installation a breeze. The Smart Thermostat HD can also monitor the health of the heating and cooling system, deliver monthly performance reports, and even alert you to potential HVAC issues right on its display.
When installing, please keep in mind that the Smart Thermostat HD requires 24 VAC power. There is no option for a battery-powered mode. Power is supplied via a common wire, typically identified as C. Mount on an inside wall, approximately 5 ft. (1.5 m) above the floor in a frequently used room. Avoid areas that are exposed to large temperature variances, such as: direct sunlight, near an AC unit, above or below auxiliary heat and air vents, and drafts from windows or exterior doors.
The Alarm.com ADC-S40-T is a temperature sensor specifically designed to work with the Alarm.com ADC-T40K-HD Smart Thermostat to provide advanced functionality and precision comfort. With the ADC-S40-T temperature sensor, the end-user can monitor the temperature of any indoor location and receive temperature/humidity alerts through the web or mobile device.

Pretty simplistic thermostat. I have two setup in my home and I can tell you the setup wasn't too bad. It took me about 30 minutes to install and maybe 5-10 minutes to pair. I choose the black display because I like being able to see the digital display in the dark frame, but they also have a white display option too. You'll have no issues installing this if you're a hands-on person and can follow instructions. Otherwise, hire someone to install this and take no chances.

Using the Alarm.com app, I could program as many timed setpoints as I wanted. You can repeat the same program for several days of the week (mid-week), and use another program for other parts of the week (weekend). Or you can have a different program for any day of your choice or the same program for all the days of the week. Complete freedom to decide how/when your home will be heated and cooled. I like this freedom because where I live the electricity is super expensive at certain hours of the day so I program the thermostat to not heat or cool during these hours. And I also like to drop the temperature at night when we sleep and raise the temp before we get up in the morning. Everything is possible and easy to do.
