Three different ways GeoArm can takeover the phone line alarm monitoring of your existing security system.
1. Remote Alarm Control Panel Reprogram - Our trained alarm technicians have a wide range of downloading modems that can remotely reprogram your security system. These modems allow our technicians to access the programming configurations of your system so that they can reprogram your alarm control panel to send alarm signals to GeoArm's central alarm monitoring station.

For this method we need the make and model of your security system's alarm control panel, the phone number that the system is connected to, the account number and the installer code of your security system.

To find your security system's make and model look on the inside door of your hardwired alarm control panel. The alarm control panel usually is a beige metal enclosure located in your garage, laundry room, closet, etc. (The alarm control panel is not the keypad which you use to arm and disarm your security system.) Your alarm control panel should have a wiring diagram sticker on the inside door of the metal enclosure. The sticker will have the make and model of your security system printed on it. For wireless security systems, the make and model will be located on or inside the main keypad which is an all-in-one unit containing your alarm control panel, keypad, and siren.

The remote alarm control panel takeover is done free of charge and takes a matter of minutes.

2. Do-It-Yourself Alarm Control Panel Reprogram - Depending on your security system's make and model, and whether or not you have your system's installer code, we may not be able to complete a remote reprogram. In this case, a GeoArm trained and certified alarm technician will call you and walk you through the process of reprogramming your alarm control panel to send alarm signals to GeoArm's central alarm monitoring station. GeoArm alarm technicians are extremely patient and very good at helping you through the DIY alarm control panel reprogram.

The DIY alarm control panel takeover is done free of charge and can take up to 45 minutes.

3. Alarm Control Panel Swap-Out - If we are unable to reprogram your security system using either of the first two methods, we will send you a new alarm control panel. The most common reason an alarm control panel swap-out is needed is because your system's installer code is not known and therefore, your alarm control panel can not be reprogrammed. Many alarm companies lock you out of your security system's programming as a way to prevent another alarm company from taking over the alarm monitoring of your system. Another reason for an alarm control panel swap-out is that some alarm companies sell proprietary security systems that can only be programmed or monitored by that alarm company. GeoArm never sells proprietary equipment and will never "lock out" your security system programming.

If your security system is locked out or proprietary, you must order a hybrid security system, wired security system or a wireless security system to take advantage of GeoArm's discount phone line alarm monitoring rate. GeoArm will then ship you a brand new security system swap-out.

The alarm control panel swap-out can take up to a week due to the fact that we need to mail you a new security system. Make sure you do not attempt to take down your old alarm control panel until you have received the new panel and called for instructions from one or our alarm technicians.

What Happens After I Order?
Once you order GeoArm's phone line alarm monitoring service, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to GeoArm's easy phone line alarm monitoring form which will ask you for important information needed to reprogram your alarm control panel and setup your GeoArm account. This information includes your security system's make and model, the phone number your system is connected to, as well as your alarm control panel's zone information. GeoArm security experts are available during normal business hours to provide assistance with this process should you need help.

After you have filled out the phone line alarm monitoring programming form, you will receive a call from a GeoArm alarm technician. During this call, our technician will verify whether or not we can access the programming of your alarm control panel. If we are able to access the programming, we will reprogram your security system using option 1 or 2 of the discount alarm monitoring takeover process. If we find that we can't access the programming fields of your alarm control panel, you have the option to either purchase an alarm control panel swap-out or cancel your agreement and have your activation charge refunded.

When Will My Alarm Monitoring Service Begin?
The activation process can take as little as 1-3 business days from the time that we have received your order. The term of your monitoring plan will begin as soon as your alarm system has been activated and reprogrammed to dial GeoArm's central alarm monitoring station.

GeoArm Alarm Signal Testing (Mon-Fri, 8:00am - 5:00pm ET)
Make sure to call GeoArm's central alarm monitoring station to put your account on test while you replace the batteries of your security devices. This test is done free of charge for our monitoring clients.

1. Call GeoArm at 1(877)443-6276.
2. Give GeoArm agent your name, address, account number (CSID) and false alarm password.
3. Ask us to place your security system on test mode for 1 hour.
4. For the next hour you can cause alarms without the police, fire, or other departments being notified.
5. Please arm your security system and wait for exit delay (15, 30, 45, 60, 75 or 90 seconds delay) to expire.
6. Open your door and windows.
7. Walk in front of your motion detectors.
8. If you have an emergency button such as a panic button, go and press it.
9. Repeat steps 7, 8 as many times as desired.
10. Disarm your system using your keypad or keyfob.
11. After doing a complete test, contact GeoArm at 1(877)443-6276.
12. Call GeoArm to verify your alarm signals were received, Ask GeoArm to place your account off test mode.
