The PowerSeries PC1832 also gives the user more control, thereby enhancing the functional experience. The user can 'Arm Away', 'Arm Stay' or 'Disarm' all partitions with just one operation. The PC1832 security system has been upgraded to support a maximum of (32) wireless zones with the addition of a wireless receiver. Featuring additional user codes, global arming and disarming, and scheduling auto arming and disarming, DSC security systems are the preferred choice of installers. The DSC PC1832 PowerSeries internet security system is equipped to send your alarm signals over the IP network. To complete your DIY home security installation, plug in the PC1832 transformer into a standard wall outlet and connect the TL260R internet alarm communicator to your broadband internet router with a CAT-5 Ethernet cable. When choosing your installation location, make sure there is an open wall outlet nearby and that you will be able to run the Ethernet cable from your internet alarm communicator to your router.
When designing your system, keep in mind that the DSC PC1832 PowerSeries internet security system supports up to (32) total zones with expansion modules but only supports (8) hardwired zones without expansion. You should add a DSC wired 8-zone expansion modules if you want to add more than (8) hardwired zones to your DSC PC1832 internet security system.
If you are interested in interative remote alarm monitoring services, than a DSC-compatible Telular HomeControl™ alarm communicator is required. With HomeControl™ you may arm or disarm your DSC PC1832 security system remotely, receive email/text message alerts, and also set up custom rules for monitoring your property. To upgrade your system for HomeControl over the cellular towers, you will need to add the 3G2060R-TEL cellular alarm communicator. In addition to adding remote capabilities, by adding the Telular 3G2060R-TEL, this would make the installation of the PC1832 security system easier as you wouldn't have to run an Ethernet cable to your TL260R broadband internet alarm communicator. The cellular alarm communicator sends your alarm signals over the wireless cellular 3G network securely to the central station.
Additionally, you may also consider adding the TL2603GR-TEL dual-path alarm communicator which would provide redundant method of sending the alarm signals and still allow for interactive monitoring. With the TL2603GR-TEL in place, the broadband internet alarm monitoring path will be the primary communication method, and if down, it is backed up by the cellular alarm monitoring path. However, please keep in mind that with the TL2603GR-TEL dual-path communicator you will still need to run an Ethernet cable from your router to the device.
