Eliminate your phone line and secure your alarm communications with GeoArm's cellular alarm monitoring.
Millions of American homes and businesses rely on security systems for protection, but no matter how many locks, sensors or detectors you have, your entire security system depends on one fine line between safety and danger - your phone line. Cellular alarm communications eliminate the vulnerability of an exposed phone line and provide you with the protection and reliability you need.
GeoArm's Cellular Alarm Monitoring Upgrade Process:
There are three scenarios encountered when adding cellular alarm monitoring to an existing security system.
Scenario 1: Your security system is able to be reprogrammed and supports Contact ID format. With this scenario, we would ship you a pre-programmed DSC GS3060 cellular alarm communicator, which with a simple 4-wire connection would connect to your existing security system's control panel. Your panel would then be able to send full event data including all alarms, troubles, low batteries, and any other supervisory signals through the cellular communicator.
Scenario 2: Your security system is able to be reprogrammed but it DOES NOT support Contact ID format. You have two options with this scenario. Option 1 would be to connect the cellular alarm communicator to your existing security system's control panel and only receive alarm events. The alarms would come in without zone descriptions and no other event data (troubles, low batteries, etc.) would be transmitted. Option 2, if you value full event data, would be to swap out your security system's control panel with one that supports Contact ID. Option 2 carries a one-time charge of $150.
Scenario 3: Your security system is locked out. In this scenario, the communication format is irrelevant because your system would only be able to send simple alarm signals. Once again, you would have the option to swap out your control panel for a one-time charge of $150 to receive full event data.
Cellular Alarm Monitoring Upgrade:GeoArm has a method to add cellular alarm communications to any existing security system. No matter which scenario above fits your application, your security system will no longer be vulnerable to phone line tampering. As well, if your security system is the only reason you still pay for a traditional phone line, GeoArm now offers an alternative communication option which allows you to eliminate your monthly phone bill!
Control Panel Swap-Out:
If your system requires a control panel swap-out, the process is as follows. Once you receive the new control panel in the mail, our technicians will walk you through how to wire your current alarm zones into the new panel. After that is completed, we will use our downloading modems to program your security system.
For this option you must choose "Yes (+$150)" for "Control Panel Swap-Out Needed." We will ship you a brand new DSC control panel and keypad. If you have more than one system keypad choose the correct number of additional keypads in the "System Keypad Swap-Out" dropdown.
This takeover process can take up to a week due to the fact that we need to mail you a new control panel. Make sure you do not attempt to take down your old panel until you have received the new panel and spoken with our technicians. This option does carry a non-refundable $150 one-time charge.
