This LYNX Touch cellular wireless security system has been upgraded with the GSMVLP5 AlarmNet LYNX Touch cellular alarm communicator. The GSMVLP5 cellular alarm communicator allows you to send your alarm signals through the wireless GSM cellular network so you would no longer need traditional phone service to have your security system monitored by a central station. In addition, the GSMVLP5 allows you to sign up for GeoArm's AlarmNet Total Connect 2.0 interactive alarm monitoring service. The Total Connect interactive service allows you to control your LYNX Touch cellular security system from any web browser or smart phone. In addition, GeoArm can program your LYNX Touch to send out automatic email and/or text message notifications based on different system events.

The LYNX Touch cellular security system comes equipped to send its alarm signals over the wireless cellular GSM network. The benefit of the LYNX Touch cellular security system is that no connection is needed for the alarm communications. The cellular alarm signals are sent wirelessly right from the LYNX Touch cellular alarm control panel. Therefore, to complete your DIY home security installation, simply plug in the LYNX Plus transformer into a standard wall outlet. When choosing your installation location, make sure there is an open wall outlet nearby.

GeoArm also recommends installing the LYNX Touch cellular security system in a location that is not near an entry/exit door, such as a utility closet or master bedroom. If the LYNX Touch cellular alarm control panel is installed near an entry/exit door, an intruder can potentially disable the system before the entry delay times out. If this happens, GeoArm's central alarm monitoring station would not receive the alarm signal since the LYNX Plus cellular alarm control panel and/or alarm communicator has been destroyed. A LYNX Plus wireless keypad installed at the entry/exit door would provide full system control and allow you to install your LYNX Touch internet security system in a secure remote location.
